Explosions have been reported in a housing estate near the elite Asokoro section of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.
Witnesses blame cooking gas for the explosion, which occurred this morning in an estate owned by EFAB.
Initial reports indicate no casualty resulted from the explosion.
When contacted, Federal Capital Territory police command said they were unaware of the explosion because they are neck deep in logistics for an expected visit of the Inspector General, Mohammed Abubakar.
“I’m not aware of any explosion,” Doris England, FCT police command spokesperson said.”We are busy at the FCT command because the IG is expected here.”
She promised to make inquiries.
Details later.
